Dame Nellie Melba (1861-1931)
1895 Two sides of an album page with photographs laid down of Nellie Melba, the operatic singer. She has signed both, one with several bars of music, an extract from Gonoud's "Romeo and Juliet" in French, running to several bars. On the verso below her photograph is a quote "et moi, je suis Ophelie", from Ambroise Thomas's opera, "Hamlet" (page size 22x29cm)
