c1798 Bilston circular enamel box with an image of H.M.S. Vanguard, Nelson's flagship. Titled "ADMIRAL NELSON" and "VANGUARD/74 Guns/ Augs.1st 1798" above and below the image, commemorating the battle at Aboukir Bay (Battle of the Nile) where Nelson was wounded and almost lost the sight of his remaining eye. A major British victory over the French fleet (4cm diameter x2cm)
