1953 Autograph letter written on Buckingham Palace notepaper with the original express registered envelope initialled "P" by the Duke of Edinburgh, to the Rev HMS Taylor, his former headmaster at Cheam School. Prince Philip refers to the imminent historic Royal Tour accompanying the Queen to various Commonwealth countries aboard the "Gothic". "I think our trip round the world ought to have many moments of intense interest but I'm afraid there will be many others of relative dullness. " They departed on the day this letter was written and were away for six months.
