1926 (30 Nov.) red band cover from the Soviet P.O. of Krasnii to Peking bearing Russia 6k. and 8k. workers type stamps cancelled by despatch c.d.s. (Tchilinghirian Type 2). The address in Russian translating "To the Chinese town of Peking from Uryankhai town of Kizil-Khoda, (sender): San-Yu-Dei. The Chinese address, on the reverse, explains that the letter was sent by Chinese Firm of San-Yu-Teh, at Kizil in T'ang-nu-wu-lyang-Hai (Chinese name for Tannu-Uryankhai) to the cashier of its head-office at Peking, care of Pao-Yeng-Hsu "spectacles shop". A magnificent exhibition item. Illustrated in Tchilinghirian and Stephen "Russian Stamps Used Abroad" and with a note Material of this period is a great rarity and not a single loose stamp has been recorded yet. Photo
