Sixth Regiment Canadian Mounted Rifles
1902 (17 June) stampless YMCA envelope with single flag (Canadian Mounted Rifles, not recorded by Rowe) to Toronto, marked "on active service, Stamps not available, Corpl G.K. Macbeth, 6th Can Mtd Rifles" bearing Durban c.d.s., London Paid transit (12.7) and Toronto "T/5c" in oval tax handstamp; some soiling, particularly on the reverse. Also an incoming cover, (5 July) to Lt. John Garshore, 6th Regiment, Canadian Mounted Rifles ... bearing Canada Q.V. 2c. carmine tied by Hamiliton machine postmark, not sent and with "d.l.o. canada, ottawa branch" c.d.s. (11.6) on the reverse; with the original letter mentioning the Toronto streetcar riots; some ageing. All 6th Regiment mail is scarce with only about ten covers recorded. (2 covers). Photo
