1900 (28 Aug.) envelope from Lt. Col W.D. Otter to Providence U.S.A. "Via London ..." bearing G.B. Jubilee ½d. vermilion (5) tied by Army P.O. 55 c.d.s. with a light strike of the Canadian Contingent dated oval (3.9) type II struck in purple, the reverse bearing similar and overlapping New York and Providence (4.10) machine postmarks. A rare cover from the Commanding Officer of the Royal Canadian Regiment and unusual to have the Contingent oval applied to non-Canadian mail. Ex Weiss. Photo
