Watermark Small Garter, deeply blued paper 4d. carmine, wing margin horizontal pair, tied by Scottish "144" numerals to large part entire letter from Forfar to New York, dated 17 Dec. 1855, insufficiently/stamped handstamp, "3/cents" (just tying the pair) and "24" markings, transit and arrival markings on the reverse; very fine and rare in this condition.
