1837-97 selection (8 covers or cards and a stamp), including 1837 entire letter from Pernambuco to Saddleworth with red handstruck "5" (indicating the 5th. train on the Liverpool and Manchester railway), 1854 envelope from Boulogne to Edinburgh franked France 1853-61 40c. pair with petit chiffres cancellations and red "M/NR" (Grand Northern Railway) additionally tying the stamps, 1865 envelope from London to Perthshire, endorsed Officers Letter, franked 6d. and with "CR" (Caledonian Railway) handstamp alongside, 1870 Electric Telegraphic Despatch envelope with "London Brighton and South Coast Railway" label on reverse, 1870 stampless envelope to Collumpton, endorsed Immediate Delivery and with Great Western Railway from Hemyock label on the reverse, etc., mixed condition
