4d. rose, two singles, tied by red '50' barred numeral from Peterhead to "Convent des Augustines", Fontainebleau, the adhesives uncancelled in Peterhead and cancelled in London, the face struck with Peterhead 30.07.61 d.s., "peterhead/ship letter" (S.2) in black, red "pd" and "angl./calaise" d.s., the reverse with London, Paris and Fontainebleau d.s. Adhesives lightly touched by filing fold and single with blunt corner at lower right, the envelope with repaired reverse flap, nevertheless a scarce cancellation on and usage of the 4d., and an early usage of this Ship Letter handstamp, recorded from use between 1892-1900 by Robertson.
