1794 (1 Dec.), entire letter to the secretary of the Foundling Hospital, with London experimental "penny post paid" double ring datestamp of 28 November, with two blocks (from the 1794 reforms), "ALDERSe/St. 1" and manuscript Pd1 alongside; fine. A highly important postal history rarity. A new discovery for this date. Only one other example of the Penny Post Paid datestamp is believed to be recorded. Photo.
