c.1855 entire to Oldenburg, Germany marked "via Trieste", bearing 1855 8a. carmine on blue glazed paper (crease and corner fault) tied by illegible obliterator, showing good "penang/p.o." double-ring d.s. in red with blue manuscript and handstruck "6" rate markings and, on reverse, blue arrival datestamps. Rare, we record only six De La Rue frankings to Germany and this the only one from Penang. Photo
