1824 (12 January) entire letter from Moongyr to Doctor's Commons in London, the face struck with double ring "calcutta/general post office" d.s., the addressee's name inscribed in Hebrew, most likely by the recipient, the reverse with "post/moongyr/paid" intaglio in black (Giles Type 1), boxed "india letter/plymouth" and London arrival d.s. Small split at top of entire nevertheless fine and rare, most unusual with Hebrew inscription. Photo.
