1869 (Jan. 23) cover from La Guaira to Orotava (Canary Islands, Spain), prepaid with red “La-Guaya/Paid” c.d.s., erroneously sent to England via St. Thomas, and therefore struck with rare red “Missent-To/St-Thomas” framed h.s. and three-line “Missent/To/England” h.s., rated in manuscript with red pencil, backstamped in transit at St. Thomas and on arrival in Spain. Part of the letter torn away, still of overall fine appeance and an exceptional usage.
