1839 (5 Nov.) entire letter headed "Upolu" from John Williams (martyred on Erromanga just fifteen days later), to London, the face struck with red "paid ship letter/sydney" oval d.s. for May 1840, charged "8" (UK letter rate) and "3" as unpaid on arrival, the reverse with boxed "india letter/hastings" in red and London receiving d.s. Vertical filing fold otherwise fine, intact and scarce.
