1878 (7 May) envelope to London showing superb clear strike of the 'Red Frank', 'falkland islands/ paid' circular handstamp, manuscript '6' rate marking in magenta alongside and 'falkland islands' double-ring datestamp despatch in black at lower left , London arrival on the reverse. One of five known from the last mail before the introduction of postage stamps. Just twenty-three 'Red Frank' covers are recorded, this being one of the finest available.
