1899 (14 Apr.) 4d. registered envelope, size G (H&G C6) to Greenock, uprated 1897-1902 2d. and 6d. tied by fine strikes of "pitsani" c.d.s. with a further strike alongside, without code and with two digit yeardate, the reverse bearing Mafeking (14.4), Cape Town, London (7.5) and Greenock arrival (8.5) datestamps; some slight soiling, a good cover showing the revised postmark and this is the latest type D1 recorded by Proud.
