1896 (7 Jan.) three half pence stationery card (H&G 8) to Cheltenham, uprated 1888 ½d. vermilion, cancelled by good strikes of "758" barred oval with "palla" c.d.s. alongside, the reverse bearing part Mafeking (10.1) squared circle; fine and scarce. The message includes, "Hope the trouble in Transvaal will be over long before this reached you". British Bechuanaland stamps used in the Protectorate. Photo
