1897 (16 Jan.) envelope from Vryburg to London bearing 1888 2d. lilac and black pair sharing a good strike of the "vryburg/bechuanaland" intaglio mail bag seal handstamp with a second strike alongside and Vryburg type 2 c.d.s. code "D" (with year quoted as "19"), the reverse with Cape Town (27.1) c.d.s.; the face panel with two light stain patches.
