1872 1d. die proof in lilac on glazed card, 43x60mm, the value tablet is not cleared; without other marking, two large adherences on the reverse, otherwise fresh and fine.

It is thought that these coloured proofs were prepared for the 1872 South Kensington Exhibition which could explain the incomplete engraving. Photo
