1885 (17 Sept.) envelope to Hon Mrs Methuen, Cogil's Hotel, Wynburg bearing Cape 1d. (2) tied by Kimberley squared circle code "D" datestamp, readdressed to Muizenberg and shows manuscript "2d" in pencil; the reverse with Kimberley Club device on flap and an indistinct c.d.s.

With a copy of the letter which indicates that Col. Methuen had just arrived in Kimberley from Barkly West and was quartered at the Kimberley Club. He would shortly leave for Orange River Station. Photo
