This exceptional 10 Rupees note, issued in Colombo on the 1st of September 1894, is an outstanding example of the very first of the 12 known dates for the type. While the date itself is already exceedingly rare in issued form, the note is issued with the lowest serial number for its kind ever to be offered publicly. The signatures featured are those of E. N. Walker and F. R. Saunders, the very first of 9 known signature pairs.
