John Victor Groundes-Peace was the son of Captain A. Groundes-Peace and was commissioned into the 14th/20th King's Hussars in January 1940. He played a key role as Air Liaison Officer between the 8th Army & 285 Wing, Royal Air Force. Having returned to 'civvie street', he trained as a medical student at Edinburgh and qualified in 1951. Having finally been granted the E.M.(T.) that he was entitled in October 1979, Groundes-Peace died in November 1991; sold together with a portrait photograph, besides original letter on transfer to Reserve, forwarding letter for E.M.(T.) and copied research.
