Hong Kong, Belillios Star for Lifesaving, silver and enamel, for Land, by Kenning & Son, London, unnamed, 86mm, with top riband bar, good very fine

The Belilios Star, Hong Kong´s own Life Saving award, was instituted in 1884, and is named after Mr. Emanuel Raphael Belilios (1837-1905), Chairman of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, Member of the Legislative Council, and notable philanthropist. The Belilios Trust files relating to the early awards were destroyed during the Second World War. The last award was made in 1984.
