He was further 'mentioned' during the Great War, he was later to settle on the Gold Coast where he commanded the Local Forces in 1945

Guy Thornhill Kingsford was born at Clapham Common on 4 June 1881, the son of Frederick and Gertrude Kinsford. He was educated at the Merchant Taylors School and then Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, where he was a Choral Exhibitioner in 1900.
Commissioned Second Lieutenant on 2 January 1904 with the East London (Tower Hamlets) Volunteers, Royal Engineers Kingsford was advanced Lieutenant on 30 December 1905. Qualifying as a Solicitor in 1906 he was further appointed to the 2nd London Field Company, 1st London Divisional Engineers on 1 April 1908.
Advanced Captain on 24 May 1913 the looming threat of war saw him promoted Major on 3 August 1913. He served at home for some time, only entering the war in France in February 1916 however on two short years he saw a great deal of service.
After the war Kingsford was appointed Senior Partner in the Giles Hunt and Company firm on the Gold Coast from 1911. He joined the Reserve of Officers and was re-appointed to the General list on 29 September 1927. Appointed Officer Commanding Gold Coast Local Forces 1935, Kingsford left the country that same year and was removed from Reserve of Officers on 4 June 1938. He died at Southport, Merseyside on 16 June 1953; sold together with copied research.
