Henry I 'Beauclerc' (1100-1135), 'Star in Lozenge' Penny, c.1121, London, Eadwine, +hENRICVS R[...], crowned and draped bust left, lys-tipped sceptre before, wearing bejewelled mantle, rev. +EDPINE ON LVND ., lys-tipped lozenge, six-pointed star at centre, voided trefoils in angle, 1.27g, 4h (SCBI 27 [Lincolnshire] 2118-2120; North 869; BMC XIII; S.1274), lightly kissed by trowel when uneathered, slightly warped, but otherwise a bold portrait, unusual for this issue, details surprisingly clear, good very fine
