Thessaly, Thessalian League, AR Stater (2): i) Thrasylos, Hera and Pausanias, magistrates, struck c. 196-146 BC, laureate head of Zeus right, rev. THESSA-LON/PAUS-ANIAS/N-I, Athena Itonia advancing right, hurling spear, holding shield, 6.22g (McClean 4778; cf. BMC Thessaly pg. 1, 9; SNG Copenhagen 275; BCD Thessaly II, 837), slight crack to edge of flan, otherwise residually lustrous, great portrait, about extremely fine; ii) another, Sosipatros, Gorgopas and Ni..., magistrates, obverse as before, rev. as before but SOSI-PATROS/NI/GORGONAS as legend, (BCD II 862.3. HGC 4, 209), excellent portrait, obverse extremely fine, reverse double-struck, about very fine; (2).
