Kingdom of Thrace, Lysimachos (323-281 BC), AR Tetradrachm, Sardis, struck c. 297-287, diademed head of deified Alexander the Great wearing horn of Ammon right, rev. BASILEOS LYSIMAXOY, Athena enthroned left holding Nike in right hand, left arm resting upon shield, transverse sceptre behind, forepart of lion left to inner left field, monograms to outer left and in exergue, 17.05g (Thompson 86 var. (lion); Muller 406), toned, slight contact-marking, nevertheless very fine with a highly unusual motif to the reverse
