(x) NGC Ch XF | Kingdom of Macedon, Alexander III, 'the Great' (336-323 BC), AV Stater, Sidon, lifetime-early posthumous issue, struck under Balakros or Menes, c. 333-305, head of Athena right, wearing triple-crested Corinthian helmet ornamented with griffin, rev. ALEXANDROY, Nike standing left, holding wreath and stylis, caduceus to lower right field, 8.58g (Price 3458; Muller 205; SNG Berry 176; Newell, Sidon 2, obv. die H), rich tone and lustre, lovely style, some softness to reverse devices but otherwise good very fine, in an NGC 'Ancients' holder, graded Choice Extremely Fine [Strike: 5/5; Surface: 5/5] ~ NGC Cert. #8222318-001
