Roman Empire, Commodus (AD 177-192), AR Denarii (5): i) Rome, M COMM ANT P FEL AVG BRIT, laureate head right, rev. LAETITIAE AVG, Laetitia standing left, holding two grain-ears and rudder on globe, 2.15g (RIC 201; BMC 170), slight split to flan, wear to reverse, some deposits but still fine to good fine, rare type omitting imperial titles from the reverse legend; ii) another, as before, M COMM ANT P FEL AVG BRIT, rev. P M TR P XI IMP VII COS V P P, Victory advancing left, holding wreath and palm frond, 2.68g (RIC 122a; BMC 190), fine; iii) another, as before, 2.56g, about very fine; iv) another, as before, rev. Commodus seated left, holding globe and scroll, 1.93g (RIC 124; BMC 192), peripheral die-wear, but a nice portrait, good fine; v) another, as before, rev. Fortuna seated left, holding rudder on globe and cornucopiae, wheel beneath her seat, FORT RED in exergue, 2.43g (RIC 131; BMC 202), about fine; (5).
