Roman Empire, Marcus Aurelius, as Caesar, (AD 139-161), AR Denarii (5): i) Rome, struck 142, AVRELIVS CAESAR AVG PII F COS, bare head right, rev. PIETAS AVG, priestly implements: jug between knife and aspergillum to left and lituus and simpulum to right, 2.79g (RIC 424a; BMC 277), softened, good to fine; ii) another, as before, 3.03g, some corrosion to reverse, good; iii) another, as before, rev. COS II, Honos standing left, holding branch and cornucopiae, 3.16g (RIC 429a; BMC 594), unfortunate wear and verdigris, otherwise good to fine; iv) another, struck c. 148-149, as before, draped bust right, rev. TR POT III COS II, Minerva standing right, 3.07g (RIC 444; BMC 689), obverse unfortunately obscured by verdigris and corrosion, reverse fine; v) another, as before, bare head right, rev. TR POT VI COS II, Genius Exercitus standing left, holding aquila and sacrificing with patera over lighted altar, 3.16g (RIC 453a; BMC 775), lustrous, a few deposits but otherwise about very fine; (5).
