Provenance

The Little Busby Hoard of Roman Denarii, found at Little Busby, North Yorkshire, on 2 June 2021 [PAS YORYM-B64A28]

While the presence of Titus's Augustan issues in this hoard are relatively modest, each coin is an interesting and desirable type from his short-lived corpus. Carrying on the stylistic experimentation of the Vespasianic coinage, and presaging the high standard of craftsmanship and metallic purity under Domitian, Titus's reign is given a pleasing representation in this quartet.
