Roman Empire, Vespasian (AD 69-79), AR Denarii (4): i) struck 72-73, IMP CAES CESP AVG P M COS IIII, laureate head right, rev. AVGVR TRI POT surrounding priestly implements, 3.03g (RIC 356; BMC 64), decent portrait, lamentable deposits to reverse, good; ii) another, as before, 2.65g, flattened, with wear and verdigris, fair; iii) another, struck c. 72-73, IMP CAES CESP AVG P M COS IIII, laureate of Vespasian right, rev. Vesta standing left, VES-TA across fields, 2.72g (RIC 360; BMC 71), softened, fair to good; iv) another, as before, 2.97g, lovely portrait, the obverse near very fine, the reverse with small mark of oxidisation, good fine; (4).
