(x) Æthelræd II 'Unræd' (978-1016), 'Small Crux' Type, Penny, 991-997, Lincoln, Ubeinn (Unbein), + ÆÐELRÆD REX ANGLORX, NG and ORX ligated, bare headed bust left, trefoil tipped sceptre before, large pellet behind neck, four horizontal folds to drapery, within inner circle, rev. + VNBEIN M-O LINC, short voided cross with C, R, V, X, in angles within inner circle, 1.11g [17.13grns], 12h (Hildebrand Ca; SCBI 7 [Copenhagen, Part II], 618 same obverse die, recorded as normal CRUX type; SCBI 50 [Hermitage, Part I], 384 same obverse die, recorded as normal CRUX type; North 770 var.; BMC IIIa; S.1149), struck on a light-weight flan, otherwise richer field tone, a pleasing very fine with an interesting pedigree, the only coin of Ubeinn recovered from this important hoard
