i) L. Brown [BHM] records the obverse legend reading '... AUGUST', in error.
Obverse portrait is modelled after a marble bust, carved by Peter Turnerelli (1774-1839), an Irish born sculptor with Italian heritage, who taught modelling to George III's daughters. He was granted the title Sculptor-in-Ordinary to the Royal Family.
