Roman Empire, Constantius II, as Augustus (AD 337-361), AV Solidus, FL IVL CONSTANTIVS PERP AVG, helmeted, diademed, draped and cuirassed bust facing, holding spear in right hand and ornamented shield in left, rev. GLORIA REI PVBLICAE, Roma, wearing helmet to left, kneeling right and Constantinople, wearing turret to right, seated left with foot upon prow, facing one another, holding between them shield emblazoned with VOT/XX/MVLT/XXX, SMNB in exergue, (Biaggi 2140; Cohen 112; Depeyrot 5/2; RIC 74), lightly scratched with some deposits to lower reaches, nevertheless a detailed and lustrous example of a scarce variety, about very fine to very fine
