The Navy Medal was first instituted by decree Number 6929 on 7 January 1974 and is awarded to members of the Navy for outstanding performance or for long service.

Lebanon's Order of Military Valour was instituted on 18 August 1971 and is awarded to members of the Armed Forces for acts of bravery or for long and distinguished service.
