A Private Purchase Great War Memorial to Sergeant W. Redgewell, Essex Yeomanry, who died of wounds on 2 July 1917

A Framed memorial featuring Britannia standing to the left with his name printed on an altar/tablet with his personal details, above a cross radiating sunlight, framed and glazed 26.2cm x 32.7cm, some light staining, otherwise very fine

Willie Redgewell was born at Tolleshunt Major and was the son of William and Rhoda Redgewell, prior to enlistment he had been a farm labourer and enlisted at Tolleshunt Darcy. He entered the war in France on 24 January 1915, he died of wounds on 2 July 1917 and is buried at St. Nicholas Churchyard, Tolleshunt Major, Essex.
