A Great War gold tribute Medal
Ystrat-Rhondda Conservative Club Great War Tribute Medal, 28mm, gold (9ct), the reverse engraved 'D. H. Meredith', traces of lacquer, very fine, in its case of issue
David Henry Meredith was born in Ystrad, Rhondda in 1891 and was a coal miner by trade. Upon the outbreak of the Great War he served in France with the 1/4th Battalion, Welsh Regiment and was evacuated in March 1918, being discharged in October 1918. He died in Pontypridd in 1929.
