D.C.M. London Gazette 3 September 1919, the original citation states:

'He has invariably displayed marked courage, readiness and resource, and by his conduct under fire has set a splendid example to his men, especially from 25th February to 16th September, 1918.'

Arthur J. Garrett was a native of Hull, Yorkshire. He was stationed with the 219th Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery which entered the war in France on 2 December 1916. He appears on the medal roll for the East Riding R.G.A. (T.F.); sold together with copied research.
