Roger Reeves was born at Sholing, Hampshire on 16 July 1897, the son of Walter and Clara Reeves. He was living at Southampton when he enrolled as a Leading Trimmer on 15 February 1916. Embodied on 14 April, he was posted the books of Attentive III at Dover and whilst still borne on her books joined the trawler Duchess of Fife when she was requisitioned the following month.
Having been awarded the D.S.M., Reeves continued to serve with her until the end of the war transferring to Pembroke II on 24 January 1919. Reeves was invalided from service on 12 March 1919; sold together with copied research.
