Harold Cooke was born at Hull, Yorkshire on 7 April 1890, the son of Fred and Charlotte Cooke. He enrolled with the Royal Naval Reserve on 26 January 1915 while living at Rosemead Street in Hull. Cooke was embodied for service with the Naval Trawlers at Grimsby on 4 February 1915, serving with them until 8 January 1918 when he was posted to the H.T. John Felton. Later that year, Cooke fell ill and was sent to the Royal Naval Hospital at Haslar where he died on 21 October 1918 and was subsequently buried at the Hull Western Cemetery; sold together with copied research.
