Frederick Schofield was commissioned from the ranks to be Flying Officer in the Administrative and Special Duties Branch on 25 August 1941 with the number 46436. He was promoted Flight Lieutenant on 1 September 1942 and was mentioned in that rank in late 1945. Further advanced Squadron Leader on 1 August 1947, Schofield later retired on 10 October 1953.
