During the Second World War the Battalion shared in the Arakan Battle area. The capture of Point 551, also called Rajput Hill, was the most important. The Japanese forces holding this feature had repelled attacks by other Battalions, but the Rajputs managed to capture the hill, winning an Indian Order of Merit, five M.C.s and two M.M.s for this action.
