Edwin MacFarlane was a native of Colliers Wood, Morton and entered the war in France on 13 October 1915. He was invalided due to wounds on 27 March 1918, just after the opening of the German Spring Offensive.

George Dengate entered the war at Gallipoli on 7 October 1915 with the Sussex Yeomanry. He was later transferred to the 21st Battalion, Rifle Brigade and promoted Company-Sergeant Major, finishing the war with the Sussex Regiment; sold together with a copied M.I.C..

Newton Chester French entered the war at Gallipoli on 7 October 1915 and was invalided from service due to sickness on 12 August 1916; sold together with copied M.I.C., it should be noted the medal slip is labelled 'Sx. Yeo. Ass. Life Member. Hollingrove Brightling E. Sx. (1953)'

William Henry Thorpe was born at Wadhurst, Sussex and entered the war in France on 14 January 1915. He was with the Battalion on the outbreak of the Second Battle of Ypres and was killed in action on 9 May, the same day as the attack on Auber Ridge; sold together with a copied Commonwealth War Graves certificate.
