The British War Medal awarded to Private A. Tunstall, Worcestershire Regiment, who was Killed in Action on 22 May 1915

Alfred Tunstall was born at St. Marks, Wolverhampton and enlisted at Worcester on 11 May 1904. He entered the war in France from 12 August 1914. The regiment has the Battle Honour of Ypres 1915 (22 April - 25 May) in which action Tunstall was killed. The War Diary notes that it was in the trenches at East Kickebush (Dikkebus) that two men were killed on the 22nd.
He was one of the two who were killed in action on 22 May 1915 whilst serving with the 3rd Battalion. Tunstall is buried in the Voormezeele Enclosure No. 3 Cemetery; sold together with some photocopied research details.
