The 1914 Star awarded to Serjeant R. Durden, Northamptonshire Regiment, who was Killed in Action on 10 November 1914

Richard Durden was born circa 1883, the son of Joseph Edward Durden and his wife Honoria of 137A Wellingborough Road, Northampton. Before his death during the First World War Durden had served with the regiment for fourteen years, eight of which had been spent in India. Durden entered the Western Theatre of the conflict on 13 August 1914 and was killed in action there just a few months later on 10 November 1914 at the age of 31. He is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial in Ypres, Belgium and is interred at the St. Sepulchre Church in Northampton.
Durden is further entitled to a clasp for his 1914 Star, as well as a British War and Victory Medal pair; sold together with copied research.
