Harry Bleackley was born in Ashton in June 1923 and attested for the Lancashire Fusiliers, serving with them in Kenya. He passed selection and joined 21 S.A.S., and as a Warrant Officer Class II. He died in service on 19 October 1967 (Military Roll of Honour, 1945-2022, refers) and is buried in Morriston Crematorium, Swansea.
