India General Service 1854-95, 1 clasp, Burma 1889-92 (1751 Pte. F. Taylor 2nd Bn. Devon. Reg.), good very fine
Frederick Taylor was born in Tewkesbury and worked as a farm labourer prior to enlisting with the Devonshire Regiment at Exeter on 18 August 1887. He was posted to the East Indies the following year, embarking with his Regiment on board the Crocodile on 18 September 1888. Taylor served abroad there for over six years until returning home to England on 20 February 1895. He was transferred to the Army Reserve on 3 March 1895 and was discharged four years later on 11 August 1899; sold together with copied service record.
