Lionel James Daniel Phillimore served as technical advisor to the National Bank of Iraq and thence took up work with the Bank of Rhodesia & Nyasaland afterwards. He was loaned on service from the Bank of England from 15 August 1951-24 June 1956 and is mentioned by C. Berkeley Cooke Jr., regarding the service of those from overseas in the National Bank of Iraq in this period.
