The unusual Army L.S. & G.C. Medal awarded to Serjeant J. H. Roach, Lancashire Regiment, who injured by a lightning strike in 1901

John Harvey Roach enlisted in the South Lancashire Regiment as a musician on 8 July 1893. He served in the Boer and Great Wars. Interestingly his service papers state he was injured by lightning in South Africa on 10 November 1901. Roach was awarded his L.S. & G.C. in 1912.
